About ETBU

Meet Dr. Bryan Mead

"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!" Philippians 2:5-8

Dr. Bryan Mead is the Assistant Provost for Adult and Graduate Studies at ETBU. His leadership responsibilities include overseeing all adult education and graduate-level programs, including enrollment, retention, and program development. Dr. Mead previously served as the Director of Academic Success, where he oversaw undergraduate academic advising, tutoring, academic coaching, and the testing center. In this role, he also taught the University Success course for new undergraduate students.

As an Assistant Professor of English, Dr. Mead specializes in writing pedagogy and film studies. He teaches general education courses such as Rhetoric and Composition and Intro to Cinema along with upper-level courses in film including studies in film genre and film directors. He has published numerous articles related to film studies, and his book, "Writing in Film Studies, From Professional Practice to Practical Pedagogy," was released in 2024. He is currently working on an edited collection titled "Going to the Movies with C.S. Lewis."

Dr. Mead loves working with students to help them achieve their goals. He has served in Christian education for close to fifteen years and finds great joy in helping students discover how God's truth should shape and direct their thoughts and actions.
