Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness

The OIRE is the University's Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. Its functions are university-wide in nature.

The OIRE is responsible for coordinating and conducting institutional research studies, both externally and internally requested, and coordinating, preparing, and submitting externally requested surveys and reports. The OIRE compiles and submits the information and data for numerous external agencies and organizations that annually request completion of surveys and questionnaires.

The OIRE also maintains the University Operational Plans and Effectiveness Plan (SPOL) and coordinates the annual revision and evaluation of the plans and the planning process.

Accreditation Information

The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE) is responsible for monitoring all aspects of the accreditation requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

  • The Dean of Academic Services and Institutional Research serves on the Leadership Team for the reaffirmation of accreditation.
  • The Dean of Academic Services and Institutional Research is responsible for monitoring the latest accreditation requirements of SACSCOC, including providing guidance in substantive changes in the institution's programs.
  • Each fall the OIRE compiles the information required for the annual SACSCOC Institutional Profile.  This report is prepared for the President who submits it to the Commission.
  • The Dean of Academic Services and Institutional Research attends the annual meeting of the Commission on Colleges in order to stay informed of SACSCOC issues and interests
