Estimated Cost of Attendance

Cost of Attendance

Understanding the cost of attending college is an important part of planning for your education. Cost of Attendance (COA) provides an estimate of the expenses students may have while attending ETBU and is used to help determine financial aid eligibility.

The estimated budgets are used in determining the amount of financial aid a student is eligible for by subtracting the Expected Family Contribution (from the FAFSA) from the total budget. If you have not filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you may do so at studentaid.gov.

Net Price Calculator - Information provided here is an ESTIMATE based on AVERAGES only.  It reflects the average amount of grants and scholarships that first-time, full-time ETBU students received last year, while living on-campus.

Cost of Attendance

How much does it cost to attend ETBU? Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of the expenses you may have while attending East Texas Baptist University. Financial aid eligibility is determined using your COA along with other factors, including your enrollment and financial aid application information.

Your Cost of Attendance may include both direct costs, which are typically charged by ETBU, and indirect costs, which are expenses you may have while attending college but generally do not pay directly to ETBU.

What Does Cost of Attendance Include?

  • Tuition & Fees: Estimated tuition and required fees for a typical full-time student enrolled in 12 or more hours per semester.

  • Room & Meals: Estimated cost of housing and meals, based on your living arrangement.

  • Books & Supplies: Estimated cost of books, course materials, and supplies for the academic year.

  • Transportation: Estimated transportation expenses while attending ETBU. These are indirect costs and are not paid directly to ETBU.

  • Personal Expenses: Estimated personal and miscellaneous expenses while attending ETBU. These are indirect costs and are not paid directly to ETBU.

  • Loan Fees: Estimated federal loan origination fees that may be deducted from federal student loan funds.
