Steps to Apply

Complete the application process by following the checklist provided below:

  • Submit the Online Application for Admission and Scholarship
  • Submit $25 Application Fee or have your fee waived by coming for an Official Campus Visit
  • Submit ALL required Official Transcripts
  • Exhibit good character, as seen by the University. 

The following are not required for acceptance, but to complete your admissions file you must also:

  • Complete the Christian Leadership Scholarship Application
  • Submit your FAFSA (FAFSA Code: 003564)
  • Submit $100 Enrollment Deposit:
    • Fall Semester: Preferred Deadline May 1
    • Spring Semester: Preferred Deadline October 1

An Enrollment deposit is required to reserve your place in the current class. The enrollment deposit is credited on the student's first bill. The enrollment deposit is required before housing assignments will be made and before you can register for classes. It can be refunded up to the preferred deadline. 

Admissions Requirements

East Texas Baptist University welcomes applications from prospective students who meet its requirements and qualifications without regard to race, creed, sex, color, or national origin. In compliance with federal law, including provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, East Texas Baptist University does not illegally discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, national or ethnic origin, age, or disability in admission or in the administration of its educational policies, programs and activities. In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, the University does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the administration of its education policies, programs and activities.

Requirements

 For first-time Freshmen or Transfer students with less than 24 transferable hours

  • Recalculated GPA of 2.75 or higher

Graduates from non-accredited institutions or home-schools must have a composite ACT of 18 (excluding Writing), a Math/Verbal composite SAT score of 970, or a composite CLT score of 62 for acceptance to the University.

Non-graduates of high school may submit a General Education Diploma (GED) certificate. These prospective students must also have a composite ACT of 18 (excluding Writing), a Math/Verbal composite SAT score of 970, or a composite CLT score of 62 for acceptance to the University.

Transfer Students with more than 24 hours of transferable credit

Transfer students who have earned at least 24 hours of transferable credit with at least a 2.0 GPA will be admitted to the university.

All transfers students must submit all official transcripts from all colleges attended. For transcripts to be considered official, they must come directly to ETBU from the issuing institution in the mail or SPEEDE. 

All students must be in good academic standing at the last college attended.
