Cameron Burger is the first head coach of the ETBU bass fishing team. Under his leadership, the program has quickly gained recognition at the collegiate level.
Before ETBU, Burger competed and later coached with Dallas Baptist University’s bass fishing team. A former offensive lineman at Kilgore, he also worked at Sky Ranch in Van, Texas, where he met his wife, Shelby. The couple now lives in Marshall, where Shelby also serves at ETBU in the School of Education.
In addition to coaching, Burger serves as ETBU’s Director of Construction Management, guiding the university’s Neighborhood Renewal Initiative to provide quality housing in the Marshall community. His background includes facilities management, carpentry, and construction, along with leadership roles at Concentra in Plano and First Baptist Church Carrollton.
Burger’s vision for the bass fishing program emphasizes both competitive success and spiritual growth, mentoring student-athletes to represent ETBU with excellence and set a Christ-like example both on and off the water.
