Teresa Lynn Salazar, Associate Professor of Mathematics, joined East Texas Baptist University in 2018. Dr. Salazar has a varied background of service in church ministries, mathematics education, and accounting. Her experience in mathematics education includes public, private, and international settings, including Bolivia and Germany. In the various roles of service, her goal is to share God’s love and encourage people in their education.
Dr. Salazar completed her Ph.D. in mathematics education at Texas State University, MS in mathematics at Texas A & M International University, and BS in political science, mathematics, and social studies education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a certified fourth through twelfth-grade mathematics teacher. She has taught a range of mathematics and mathematics education courses. Still, her primary work is to equip future and practicing teachers of mathematics from early childhood to college to attend to and support their students’ mathematical thinking.
