Ms. Blanca Jenkins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages and Literature at East Texas Baptist University. She is a naturalized citizen originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. Mrs. Jenkins obtained a B.A. from East Texas Baptist University and a M.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Mrs. Jenkins also obtained additional graduate work at Texas A&M University. She has taught for 20 years; her teaching experience includes public and private high schools, and university settings. She currently holds teacher certification in all level Spanish in the state of Texas.
Mrs. Jenkins has a passion for connecting with students and teaching Spanish language and culture. Her love for teaching and travel has led her to lead several study abroad courses to Mexico and Ecuador. She has also traveled to multiple Spanish speaking countries as an interpreter for different Christian organizations.
Her husband, Jason Jenkins, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and they have two sons. Mrs. Jenkins is a committed Christian educator who values her faith and the opportunity to integrate faith and learning.
