The School of Christian Studies and Humanities maintains a clear identification with and loyalty to the Christian faith and functions within the context of historic Baptist values and principles. In service to the foundational liberal arts curriculum of East Texas Baptist University, the faculty help students deepen their skills in reading, writing, speaking, thoughtful inquiry, and reflection. ETBU believes these creative capabilities have purpose in a Christ-centered life, and our professors are committed to faithful teaching, mentoring, research, writing, and service. We want our students to engage with us in the historic Christian tradition of believers seeking greater understanding and wisdom that, in turn, informs and strengthens personal faith. The School of Christian Studies and Humanities offers majors or minors in Christian Ministry, English, History, and Political Science, and one interdisciplinary major in Humanities.
