Meet Dr. Michael Rich

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Dr. Michael Rich serves as the Director of Master of Science Programs and Associate Professor of Athletic Training in the Department of Kinesiology at East Texas Baptist University. Prior to joining East Texas Baptist University, he has worked as an athletic trainer in both the collegiate and secondary school settings. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at East Texas Baptist University in May 2012 and later finished his Master of Science in Kinesiology at The University of Texas at Tyler in August 2015. He completed his Doctor of Health Sciences degree from A.T. Still University in December 2021.

Dr. Rich has always viewed the athletic training profession as one of the greatest platforms to serve others as Jesus’ hands and feet. He believes integrating the Christian faith in learning prepares students to have successful careers but also equips them to serve and advance His kingdom wherever they have been called. Dr. Rich is married to Chelsea, who is also a 2012 ETBU graduate. She serves as a Registered Nurse at Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas. They have two sons, Hudson and Kaden.
