Jon Easterling, Director of Media Services, comes to ETBU with over 30 years of live and recorded audio engineering experience. As a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, TN, Jon earned his BBA and moved directly into the Christian music industry. Jon began his freelance career engineering numerous projects, including the award-winning multi-platinum debut album for Jars of Clay. He was the principal engineer for Bellevue Community Church, operating sound for Saturday night and Sunday morning services. In 2010, Jon joined the staff of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX, as the Technical Director for the Crosswalk Conference Center. Serving as the chief audio engineer for the facility, Jon handled the technical side of all Crosswalk events, including the Sunday services for the Resonate Worship services. In March of 2020, Jon accepted the position of Technical Director for Oakland Heights Baptist Church, and he continues to serve there on Sundays with his wife, Teresa. After teaching an Intro to Audio Engineering course at ETBU in the fall of 2020, Jon felt God leading him back to the University. Jon and Teresa have three children.
