For more than 40 years, Dr. Morton has had the privilege of serving students and educators through a career that has taken her from Virginia to Tennessee and, ultimately, Texas. Her journey began in 1983 as a high school mathematics teacher and head athletic trainer. In 2007, she and her husband moved to Texas, where she continued teaching mathematics before retiring from athletic training—although she admits, athletic training will always hold a special place in her heart!
In 2010, after earning her doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction, God opened a new door for her to support secondary mathematics educators throughout East Texas through Region 7 Education Service Center.
In 2025, God provided another opportunity to serve as she joined East Texas Baptist University. Dr. Morton is deeply committed to investing in future educators by sharing the knowledge and experiences gathered throughout her career.
Dr. Morton believes every student learns differently and at their own pace. She believes education is a gift and is passionate about helping students unwrap that gift, discover the joy of learning, recognize their potential, and become lifelong learners.
