Meet Dr. Jaime Burke Hicks

Dr. Jaime Hicks serves as the Director of the Master of Education Program and as an Assistant Professor of Education in the School of Education at East Texas Baptist University. She brings more than 20 years of experience in education, serving students in a variety of grade levels and content areas and working extensively in student leadership and project-based learning. Dr. Hicks earned her bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University and her master’s degree and her Doctor of Education in School Improvement from The University of Texas at Tyler. Her doctoral research focused on the use of intentional leadership instruction to strengthen student collaboration and leadership skills within project-based learning.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hicks has been passionate about helping students recognize their potential, develop as leaders, and use their gifts to serve others. She now considers it a privilege to be back home at ETBU and to invest in the next generation of educators as they prepare to lead, serve, and make a difference in their own classrooms and communities.
