Hunter Overholt is an Assistant Professor of Communication at East Texas Baptist University (ETBU), bringing professional experience in higher education, athletics, digital media, graphic design, and storytelling.
Before returning to ETBU, Hunter served as the Director of Social Media and Digital Content for Stephen F. Austin State University Athletics and taught Animation and Graphic Design at Lufkin High School. He also works with Starting 5ive Productions, specializing in social media and content strategy.
Hunter earned his bachelor’s degree in Multimedia – TV/Video Production from Olivet Nazarene University and previously served as a graduate assistant in athletic communications at ETBU in the 2021-2022 school year, where he earned his master's in Strategic Communications.
As an educator and creative professional, Hunter is passionate about helping students develop practical communication skills, tell meaningful stories, and understand how strategic communication can positively impact organizations and communities.
