Mike Papas serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for ETBU Athletics. Now in his 11th year at ETBU, he previously spent six years coaching football before being promoted to oversee the development of the University’s strength and conditioning programs.
Papas joined the ETBU staff in 2010 as an offensive coach and worked with quarterbacks, the offensive line, and running backs, while also serving as offensive coordinator for two seasons. Prior to ETBU, he was the first head football coach at North Crowley High School, leading the program from its opening in 1998 through multiple playoff runs, including the 2003 Class 4A Division I state championship. He was recognized several times as District Coach of the Year and earned regional honors from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fox Sports Southwest, Texas PrepXtra, and the Texas Sportswriters Association.
Earlier in his career, Papas coached at Corsicana High School, Crowley High School, and Sherman High School.
A native of Raytown, Missouri, Papas graduated from Austin College in 1980 with degrees in Biology and Physical Education and earned a Master’s degree in Education from Austin College in 1991.
He and his wife, Leska, have two children, Casey and Kellie.
