Dr. Jing Jiao was born and raised in China and came to the United States to pursue her education in science. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she also experienced one of the most meaningful changes in her life: She became a Christian in 2015.
Her journey through graduate school was filled with both opportunities and challenges. There were seasons when life felt uncertain, and things did not go as she had hoped. During those times, she learned to trust God and discovered a sense of peace, strength, and direction through her faith. Since then, her relationship with God has continued to shape the way she approaches life, work, and the people around her.
Today, Dr. Jing Jiao serves as a professor of biology. She enjoys teaching and helping students develop their knowledge, curiosity, and confidence. As both a scientist and a Christian, she finds great meaning in studying life and the natural world, and she is continually reminded of the beauty and complexity of God's creation.
Outside of teaching, she is a mother to her son, Nikolai, and they also have a cat named Niko. She is grateful for the life God has given her and for the opportunity to continue growing in faith, learning, and service to others.
