Meet Dr. Daniel Korir

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

Dr. Daniel K. Korir is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry for the Department of Chemistry in the School of Natural and Social Sciences at East Texas Baptist University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (Math and Chemistry Majors) at Egerton University in Kenya. He then went on to obtain MSC in Chemistry (TWU-Denton) and Ph.D. in Chemistry from UNT in Denton, Texas. He then proceeded to his Postdoctoral training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler before joining the ETBU family.

His research work involved the design of Nanoparticles (metallic, polymeric, liposomal, and peptides) as drugs or drug delivery agents with a primary focus on treatments of brain tumors and lung diseases including COPD and Lung Fibrosis. He has been involved in investigating molecular responses to these treatments while focusing on interventional strategies.

Over the years, Dr. Korir has been a high school teacher and later instructor at TWU, UNT, and Dallas College. He has also served as the lead pastor in his church in the Dallas/Fort Worth area over the last nine years. It is his passion to empower the body of Christ with the Word of God. He strongly believes that there is an integral link between education and Christianity that can prepare students for holistic growth and success in science and STEM.

Dr. Korir is married to Susan and together they are blessed with a son, Nathaniel.
