Jazz Band

The ETBU Jazz Band provides an opportunity for students to perform in a jazz ensemble that will prepare them for careers in teaching or performance. The Jazz Band performs music in a variety of styles, including Swing, Blues, Rock, Funk, and Latin by such composers and arrangers as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Sammy Nestico, Gordon Goodwin, Mike Tomaro, and Quincy Jones. The Jazz Band presents two campus concerts annually and performs at numerous sites in Marshall and in surrounding communities.

The ETBU Jazz Band is an auditioned ensemble open to performers on saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. Auditions are open to all students regardless of major. The ETBU Jazz Band rehearses MW 12:00-12:50 in the fall and spring semesters. Enrollment in Marching Band (fall) or Symphonic Band (spring) is a co-requisite for Jazz Band membership.
