In the Fall 2020 semester, the Department of Chemistry received a grant from The Welch Foundation to support undergraduate research. With the funds from the grant, the Department established the Chemistry Research for Undergraduates Program, which began in August 2021. Undergraduate research is an invaluable experience, and the Chemistry faculty is excited to be able to offer this opportunity to its students.
To be eligible for this program, a student needs to have completed both semesters of Organic Chemistry with a C or higher. Students who have transferred to ETBU from another institution need to have completed at least one semester at ETBU in addition to the Organic Chemistry requirement. We are blessed to be able to offer financial incentives to the students who apply and are accepted into the program.
The important dates for the application process and program are as follows:
April 2 - Application Opens
April 30 - Application Deadline
End of April - Review of Applications Begins. Applicants will be Invited to Interview
Beginning of May - Final Decisions will be Made
August 5-9, 2024 - Chemistry Research Skills Workshop
