ETBU confers 134 graduates during Fall 2018 Commencement

East Texas Baptist University held its Fall 2018 Commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 8 at 10:00 a.m. in Baker Chapel of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. ETBU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Thomas Sanders, assisted by the academic deans, presented all 134 graduates. ETBU President J. Blair Blackburn presided over the ceremony as 106 students received undergraduate degrees and 28 received graduate degrees.

Learning by Design recognizes ETBU Tiger Softball Clubhouse

East Texas Baptist University received an Outstanding Project Award for excellence in educational facility design in the Fall 2018 edition of Learning by Design, the premier source for education design innovation and excellence. The ETBU Tiger Softball Clubhouse has been recognized for its architectural and interior design and having next generation benchmark type design and planning features worthy of imitation.

ETBU holds Ring Blessing ceremony to honor graduating seniors

East Texas Baptist University honored 88 graduating seniors with an official ETBU Class Ring during the 2018 Ring Blessing on Wednesday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Baker Chapel of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. The inaugural ceremony was designed to celebrate the accomplishments of students and connect generations of alumni. As a token of appreciation to graduating seniors, this graduation ring symbolizes the University’s blessing over students as they commence from ETBU to pursue their vocational callings.

ETBU Athletics participates in Operation Christmas Child

East Texas Baptist University Tiger Athletics held the third annual Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Wrapping Party on Monday, November 12 as a part of the Samaritan’s Purse National Collection Week. Tiger Athletics collected 230 boxes for boys and girls through donations from over 500 student-athletes. Following the event, the boxes were delivered to Summit United Methodist Church in Marshall, Texas.
