ETBU Athletics participates in Operation Christmas Child

East Texas Baptist University Tiger Athletics held the third annual Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Wrapping Party on Monday, November 12 as a part of the Samaritan’s Purse National Collection Week. Tiger Athletics collected 230 boxes for boys and girls through donations from over 500 student-athletes. Following the event, the boxes were delivered to Summit United Methodist Church in Marshall, Texas.

Student-athletes participate in Operation Christmas Child

The Christmas spirit came to East Texas Baptist University earlier than usual as the student-athletes participated in Operation Christmas Child this week. ETBU student-athletes came together with their gifts for boys and girls and wrapped them all in one night.

In the first year of the ETBU Athletic Operation Christmas Child Wrapping Party, the athletic department collected 181 boxes for boys and girls through donations from ETBU's 500 student-athletes. These boxes were then delivered to Summit United Methodist Church in Marshall.

ETBU Students, Staff Celebrate Upcoming Holiday Season

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (12/1/15) - East Texas Baptist University students, staff and faculty know Jesus is the true reason for this upcoming holiday season, university President Blair Blackburn said Tuesday during the university's annual "Christmas on the Hill" celebration.

"We at East Texas Baptist University know that Christ is the true meaning behind Christmas," Blackburn said. "Christmas is about the hope, joy and love that comes from God through His son, Christ our savior."

ETBU & KSLA Holiday Food Drive

MARSHALL, Texas (11/29/15) - East Texas Baptist University is inviting everyone to participate in a Holiday Food Drive during the Christmas season that will benefit the residents of Marshall and Harrison County. ETBU, in cooperation with KSLA-TV Shreveport, will be collecting canned food items on Wednesday, December 2, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on campus.
