ETBU offers School of Christian Ministries Scholarship

Current and future East Texas Baptist University students, who have earned a bachelor's degree from ETBU, are called to full-time ministry, and are active members at Texas Baptists (BGCT) churches, will be provided a full-tuition graduate scholarship to the ETBU School of Christian Studies. The University has developed the scholarship program to encourage and equip students, who are considering or preparing for a call to vocational Christian ministry.

Supreme Court Victory for ETBU & HBU

WASHINGTON, D.C (5/17/16) – On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the government cannot fine East Texas Baptist (ETBU) and Houston Baptist (HBU) Universities for carrying out their religious beliefs in their health plans. It also threw out the lower court decision against the universities.

In its decision, the Supreme Court held that after its unprecedented call for supplemental briefing, the lower courts should again review the cases.

ETBU School of Christian Studies Hosting T. B. Maston Lecture Series on April 13

MARSHALL, Texas (4/5/16) – The East Texas Baptist University School of Christian Studies is hosting the T.B. Maston Lecture Series on Wednesday, April 13. The speaker is Dr. Roger Olson, Foy Valentine Professor of Christian Theology and Ethics, at Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. A luncheon will be held from 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with the lecture, “America Critically Examined,” from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
