Current and future East Texas Baptist University students, who have earned a bachelor's degree from ETBU, are called to full-time ministry, and are active members at Texas Baptists (BGCT) churches, will be provided a full-tuition graduate scholarship to the ETBU School of Christian Studies. The University has developed the scholarship program to encourage and equip students, who are considering or preparing for a call to vocational Christian ministry.  

East Texas Baptist University sent more than 40 students, faculty, and staff to Southeast Texas to partner with First Baptist Church - Nederland, Texas Baptist Men, and Baptist Men of North Carolina in the disaster relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Harvey. The team left on Wednesday, October 4 and returned Sunday, October 8, spending their days working to repair homes in the area. 

East Texas Baptist University hosted the third-annual Calling Conference on September 27 for ETBU students exploring vocational ministry. The conference began with a discussion-oriented session, providing opportunity for students to explore various ideas related to vocational calling. A time of worship, focused on the universal call to salvation, followed.
