ETBU Students Organize Public Reading of the Entire Bible

MARSHALL, Texas (2/24/16) – East Texas Baptist University students in the The Worship of God class in the School of Communication and Performance Arts recently organized a public reading of the entire Bible on campus. Students, faculty, and staff volunteered 20 minutes at a time to read the Bible continuously for 24 hours a day. This public reading of the Scriptures started on Thursday, February 11, and concluded on Tuesday, February 16.

ETBU & Two Other Religious Institutions Appeal to Supreme Court, Say They Will Fight to Protect Their Faith

Washington, D.C.  (7/08/15) - Today two private universities and a seminary are asking the Supreme Court to protect them from millions of dollars in IRS fines that will be triggered if they refuse to comply with the infamous HHS mandate. Filing the petition today are the same two firms that won the Hobby Lobby case against the government's HHS mandate one year ago.

ETBU Department of Religion Holding ETBU Preach! Day

MARSHALL, Texas (4/15/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Department of Religion announces "ETBU Preach! Day" on Sunday, April 19, 2015.  Ministry students from the School of Christian Studies will be guest preaching in participating area churches. 

"This will be a great way for our ministry students to gain experience," said Dr. Jennifer Bashaw, Assistant Professor of New Testament. "We are thankful for this partnership between ETBU and East Texas churches because it will serve to develop the gifts of our students and connect them to the ministry God is doing in our area."
