ETBU Department of Religion Holding ETBU Preach! Day

MARSHALL, Texas (4/15/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Department of Religion announces "ETBU Preach! Day" on Sunday, April 19, 2015.  Ministry students from the School of Christian Studies will be guest preaching in participating area churches. 

"This will be a great way for our ministry students to gain experience," said Dr. Jennifer Bashaw, Assistant Professor of New Testament. "We are thankful for this partnership between ETBU and East Texas churches because it will serve to develop the gifts of our students and connect them to the ministry God is doing in our area."

The following churches will be hosting ETBU student preachers on "ETBU Preach! Day" during the morning service: Athey Baptist Church, Harleton; Bel Air Baptist Church, Marshall; Bethesda Baptist Church, Marshall; Central Baptist Church, Marshall; Fairview Baptist Church, Marshall; First Baptist Church, Jefferson; First Baptist Church, Marshall; Hillcrest Baptist Church, Marshall; Karnack Baptist Church, Karnack; Memorial Baptist Church, Marshall; and Nesbitt Baptist Church, Nesbitt.  One student will have the opportunity to preach at the evening service of Crossroads Baptist, Marshall. 

"We invite you to attend one these churches this Sunday to show your support for these students and their ministry callings," said Dr. Bashaw. 

The primary goal of the ETBU School of Christian Studies/Department of Religion is to prepare individuals for various Christian ministries. It is a school and a department whose mission is Christian by tradition and Baptist by heritage.
