ETBU Nursing School receives Marshall EDC Grant for workforce training

East Texas Baptist University has secured a grant agreement with the Marshall Economic Development Corporation (Marshall EDC) for partial funding of workforce training equipment for the ETBU School of Nursing. With the intent to further develop quality Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates at ETBU, the equipment will be located in the Marshall Grand, the University’s nursing school expansion project. Over $2.75 million has been raised for the project, and the construction of the academic facilities in the Cargill- Anderson Building are underway.

USAF Concert Band & Singing Sergeants In Concert at ETBU

MARSHALL, Texas (3/23/16) - The United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants from Washington, D.C. are heading to the campus of East Texas Baptist University for a concert on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. The free public concert is sponsored by ETBU and the Marshall News Messenger and will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center on campus. 

Mezzo soprano vocalist Technical Sgt. Hannah Shirey is excited to be returning to her home state of Texas as well as her alma mater.

ETBU Honors Alumni During Homecoming Week

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (10/24/15) - Nell Wilkerson is East Texas Baptist University's oldest living alumni at 99 years old and she feels she has lived this long in order to receive a prestigious award from her alma mater.

Nell was one of three university alumni to be named a Golden Lightkeeper by the university's alumni association on Friday.

"I often wondered why I was hanging around this world for so long," Nell said Friday. "I think this might have had something to do with it."
