ETBU holds Women’s Empowerment Luncheon

East Texas Baptist University hosted a special luncheon for female leaders from the University, Wiley College, and the Marshall community on Monday, October 21 in the Ornelas Student Center. The luncheon, hosted by ETBU First Lady Michelle Blackburn, featured special guest speaker and President of Benedict College, Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, who shared her insights on the value of education for the empowerment of women in the workplace.

ETBU junior Ronni Ward crowned as Miss ETBU 2019

Junior Speech Communication major Ronni Ward of Logansport, Louisiana was crowned as the 63rd Miss ETBU on Saturday, March 30. Actively involved in the ETBU community as a member of the Student Government Association (SGA), Political Awareness Society, and Tiger Cheer, Ward was selected from among 12 contestants at the annual scholarship pageant sponsored by ETBU’s SGA. As Miss ETBU, she receives a generous academic scholarship as well as the opportunity to represent the University throughout the community and region during her reign.

The ETBU Women’s Summit empowers students

East Texas Baptist University hosted Amena Brown Owen as the keynote speaker at the second annual Women's Summit on Monday, January 29. The event consisted of a chapel service, women's leadership luncheon, and special evening session. Amena shared her journey of healing and how she has allowed the music of God's love to replace the broken records in her life.

Tiger Athletics: Weekend Action By Volleyball, Football & Soccer

VOLLEYBALL: TYLER, Texas (10/17/15) - For the fifth time in as many matches, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team won via sweep as it topped Howard Payne University, 3-0. Playing on Saturday in its third and final match as part of the American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournament hosted by University of Texas-Tyler, ETBU (20-3, 8-2 ASC) bested Howard Payne (1-17, 1-9 ASC) by set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-18.

For the match, ETBU had a team attacking percentage of .313. In comparison, Howard Payne hit .067 as a team.
