ETBU holds Ring Blessing ceremony to honor graduating seniors

East Texas Baptist University honored 150 graduating seniors with an official ETBU Class Ring during the 2019 Ring Blessing on Monday, April 15 in Baker Chapel of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. Initiated in December of 2018, the ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of students and connects generations of alumni. As a token of appreciation to graduating seniors, the graduation ring symbolizes the University’s blessing over students as they commence from ETBU to pursue their vocational callings.

ETBU Theatre glimpses the future with a performance of Marjorie Prime

The East Texas Baptist University Theatre Arts Department concluded the 2018-2019 season with a performance of Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison on Thursday, April 11 through Sunday, April 14. Set in 2062, the 2015 Pulitzer Prize Finalist play centers on Marjorie Lancaster, an elderly woman with dementia, and her family. As director, ETBU Theatre Arts Department Chair Traci Ledford personally invested in the production.

ETBU Transfer Admissions Counselor Max Turner accepts an award on the behalf of the University at the PTK Catalyst 2019. East Texas Baptist University was one of only 78 institutions in the nation named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Transfer Honor Roll.

PTK recognizes ETBU for exemplary transfer pathways

East Texas Baptist University was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes excellence and success in community college and transfer pathway development among four-year colleges and universities. ETBU is among the top 25 percent of colleges, who earned the highest Transfer Friendliness Ratings by completing a Transfer Profile in PTK Connect.

Katee Muckleroy receives the 2019 Senior Girl Call-Out award

Katee Muckleroy of Nacogdoches was recognized on Friday, April 12 during the East Texas Baptist University 72nd annual Senior Girl Call-Out, ETBU’s longest standing tradition. Selected by a faculty and staff vote, the individual “called out” each year is distinguished for her exemplary Christian character, social consciousness, personal poise, academic achievement, and spiritual vision.
