History (B.S.)

The Bachelor of Science in History can provide the flexibility that will allow motivated students to complete the degree in three years, reducing costs and opening opportunities for continuing education through ETBU’s Masters of Education program or earlier employment through an alternative teacher certification program.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. Graduates with a major in history will demonstrate the ability to analyze sources critically. 
  2. Graduates with a major in history will demonstrate the ability to organize and communicate historical arguments. 
  3. Graduates with a major in history will demonstrate adequate mastery of historical content in the history curriculum.

General Education Requirements - 46 hours
English 1301, 1302, and three hours sophomore literature - 9 hours
Fine Arts (three hours from music, theatre, fine arts, art, or equivalent) - 3 hours
Christian Ministry 1320 and 1330 - 6 hours
History - 3 hours
Political Science 2305 - 3 hours
Geography 1303 - 3 hours
Physical Activity - KINE 1238 - 2 hours
Science (must be lab science) - 8 hours
Mathematics - 6 hours
Communication 1311, 1315, or 1318 - 3 hours
