ETBU Fred Hale School of Business Students Earn Certified Management Accountant Scholarships

Ten students from the Fred Hale School of Business at East Texas Baptist University will receive Certified Management Accountant (CMA) scholarships from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

CMA is an internationally recognized accounting certification focusing not only on calculating numbers but understanding the numbers and using them to make strategic financial decisions.

ETBU receives international tutor training program certification

East Texas Baptist University’s Office of Academic Success and Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) Tutoring Lab was awarded certification as a Level 1 certified tutor training program by the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) on Monday, March 27.

For more than thirty years, CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs, with almost 1,300 members and over 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.

ETBU Confers Spring 2020 Degrees Virtually

The University held a special “virtual” degree conferral for Spring 2020 ETBU graduates on Tuesday, May 19, at 10:00 a.m. The livestream event was available on all of ETBU’s social media accounts. Graduates also received a delivery of ETBU graduate gift boxes filled with regalia, and were encouraged to wear their cap and gown to take pictures commemorating their remarkable achievements of completing a bachelor’s or a master’s degree. All ETBU Tigers everywhere, including family and friends, were encouraged to wear Blue and Gold in their honor on May 19.

ETBU Nursing students provide aid in the Philippines

The East Texas Baptist University School of Nursing traveled to the Philippines as a part of the Global Study and Serve program from Monday, May 13 through Monday, June 3. Students earned credit for Global Nursing, taught by Dean and Assistant Professor of Nursing Rebekah Grigsby. The group of twelve collaborated with International Baptist Church (IBC) in Manila and the Philippines Christian University to experience and practice health care outside of the classroom.
