ETBU Honors Alumni During Homecoming Week

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (10/24/15) - Nell Wilkerson is East Texas Baptist University's oldest living alumni at 99 years old and she feels she has lived this long in order to receive a prestigious award from her alma mater.

Nell was one of three university alumni to be named a Golden Lightkeeper by the university's alumni association on Friday.

"I often wondered why I was hanging around this world for so long," Nell said Friday. "I think this might have had something to do with it."

Sanders Named AVCA National POW; Elonu Earns ASC Award

VOLLEYBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (9/16/15) - Earning awards this week for the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team are Mallory Sanders and Adaeze Elonu. Sanders was named the AVCA National Division III Player of the Week and the ASC East Player of the Week. Elonu was given the ASC East Defensive Player of the Week award. ETBU went 4-0 last weekend at the Austin College Invitational with a win over #23 Southwestern University.

ETBU Student Receives UPS Scholarship

MARSHALL, Texas (9/1/15) - East Texas Baptist University student Mark Ramos has been selected to receive a UPS Scholarship. Ramos is a junior transfer student from Rowlett, Texas majoring in Business Administration. The scholarship is provided by the ICUT Foundation and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC).

Voice of the Tigers Receives ASC Outstanding Media Service Award

AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE: RICHARDSON, Texas (9/08/15) - The voice of East Texas Baptist University athletics, Mike Midkiff, was recognized by the Sports Information Directors of the American Southwest Conference as its Outstanding Media Service Award Recipient for the 2014-15 academic year. Midkiff was honored Saturday (Sept. 5) at halftime of the McMurry University football game.

ETBU Awards Over $1.5 million In Scholarships to Harrison County Students

MARSHALL, Texas (6/3/15) -  East Texas Baptist University has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships to Harrison county high school graduates.  A total of 28 students from Hallsville High School, Harleton High School, Marshall High School, Texas Early College High School, and Waskom High School with one home schooled student will be attending ETBU in the Fall.
