ETBU Debate Finishes Season Ranked Sixth in Nation; Blackman Finishes Second Nationally

MARSHALL, Texas (4/08/16) – The East Texas Baptist University debate team competed in the International Public Debate Association National Championship Tournament April 1-3 at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Over 215 competitors from 32 universities from across the country competed in the three-day event.

Four ETBU debaters advanced to the elimination rounds of competition.

ETBU Athletes Honored This Week

SOFTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (2/10/16) - East Texas Baptist University softball players Jayme Perez and Lacey Lindsey have earned pre-season awards from HeroSports being named All-Americans to start the 2016 season. Perez has been selected to the first team as a designated player and Lindsey on the second team at first base.

Both players are two-time NFCA All-Americans in their first two seasons at ETBU. Last year they both were NFCA All-American second-team selections while Lacey was the co-Offensive Player of the Year in the ASC. Below are the bios from HeroSports.com

ETBU Releases 2015 Fall Dean’s List with Honors and Dean’s List

MARSHALL, Texas (1/15/16) – East Texas Baptist University announces students for outstanding academic achievement during the 2015 Fall Semester. Listed below are the names of students earning recognition to the ETBU Dean’s List with Honors and Dean’s List. Students are sorted in alphabetical order by home town. 

The Dean’s List with Honors are students who have a 3.5 grade point average or above. The Dean’s List is students who have a 3.25 to 3.49 grade point average.

AWARDS: Sanders, Elonu Are AVCA All-American, All-Region

AVCA: MARSHALL, Texas (11/17/15) - It is the second time in three years that the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team has received AVCA awards both regionally and nationally. Mallory Sanders and Adaeze Elonu were voted AVCA All-American honorable mention and All-Region in a five-day span. ETBU has now had three AVCA All-American honorable mention selections in three years as Kolby Sharp was an All-American in 2013.
