ETBU Band and Choir Israel Concert Tour

ETBU’s Symphonic Band and Concert Choir perform concert tour in Israel

The East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band and Concert Choir traveled to Israel as part of the Global Study and Serve Program from Tuesday, March 7 through Friday, March 17. The concert tour was led by ETBU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Thomas Sanders, Dean of the School of Communication and Performing Arts Justin Hodges, Director of Bands Nathan Phillips, College Organist Cathy DeRousse, and Assistant Professor of Music Lynette Vincent. The group of 52 students and faculty performed at and toured historical and cultural sites throughout Israel.

ETBU and Wiley College perform Jubilate Deo

East Texas Baptist University united with Wiley College for Jubilate Deo on Friday, April 13. The concert featured a full orchestra and choirs from both institutions. Sponsored by Central Perks, Jack Cargill, Jucy's Hamburgers, Judge Richard and Christina Anderson, and Marshall News Messenger, the event emphasized the importance of community.

ETBU Presents "A Service of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs" at First Baptist of Longview

MARSHALL, Texas (1/20/16) - The East Texas Baptist University Department of Music presents "A Service of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs" at First Baptist Church of Longview. This service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will feature the ETBU University Chorus and the Reunion Choir as well as several instrumental ensembles.  The service will also feature Christian Artist Dallas Holm and organist Huey Harpe.

ETBU Choir and Symphonic Band To Present A Concert, April 24th.

MARSHALL, Texas (4/23/15) - The School of Fine Arts at East Texas Baptist University invites the community to attend a concert featuring the ETBU Choir and Symphonic Band. The concert will be in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center on Friday, April 24th, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. 

The ETBU Choir is under the direction of Dr. Justin Hodges, Director of Choral Activities and the Symphonic Band is conducted by Mark Crim, Director of Bands. 

The Percussion Ensemble will perform as well under the direction of Crim.
