East Texas Baptist University held its eighth annual Great East Texas Hymn Sing on Friday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m. in Baker Chapel of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. Open to the ETBU campus and local church community, the event included two hours of the great hymns of the Christian faith and a fellowship reception.

The East Texas Baptist University Faculty Brass Quintet performed at the Texas Music Education Association (TMEA) Music Showcase on Friday, February 16. The convention was held in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on Wednesday, February 14 through Saturday, February 17. 

MARSHALL, Texas (1/28/16) - The East Texas Baptist University Department of Music will present a program of Musical Theatre Scenes in Mabee Recital Hall on campus, Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 4-6), at 7:00 p.m. Students will present selections from seven different musical theatre productions, including Die Fledermaus, Pirates of Penzance, Sweeney Todd, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Porgy and Bess, Guys and Dolls and The Music Man.  

MARSHALL, Texas (1/20/16) - The East Texas Baptist University Department of Music presents "A Service of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs" at First Baptist Church of Longview. This service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will feature the ETBU University Chorus and the Reunion Choir as well as several instrumental ensembles.  The service will also feature Christian Artist Dallas Holm and organist Huey Harpe.

MARSHALL, Texas (1/12/16) - The East Texas Baptist University Department of Music presents a Duo Piano recital by Dr. Randall S. Sulton and Ryan Chandler on Tuesday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. The recital will be held in Mabee Recital Hall located in the Jenna Guest Music Building on campus. Admission is free.
