ETBU’s School of Communication and Performing Arts Presents “Selections From Gilbert and Sullivan Operas”

The School of Communication and Performing Arts at East Texas Baptist University invites you to enjoy an evening of classic operatic comedy and song with “Selections From Gilbert and Sullivan Operas,” running November 14-17. Students from the Opera Workshop course will perform selected scenes from three of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most beloved operas: The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, and H.M.S. Pinafore.

ETBU Theatre and Music Arts concludes 2023-24 production season with Jane Eyre: The Musical

East Texas Baptist University's School of Communication and Performing Arts closed out the 2023-2024 production season with "Jane Eyre," a tragic-poetic musical drama adapted from the beloved novel of the same name written by Charlotte Brontë, from Thursday, April 18-Sunday, April 21 at Memorial City Hall in downtown Marshall. The show was directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Rouba Palmer with musical direction by Assistant Professor of Music Judith Shelton. The live orchestra was conducted by Assistant Professor of Music Dr.

Curtain closes on ETBU Spring 2023 theatre season with Working: The Musical

The ETBU Department of Music and Theatre Arts ended the spring theatre season with the production of Working: The Musical, a thought-provoking and inspiring look at the real essential American workers, live on stage April 20-23 in Mabee Recital Hall at Jenna Guest Music Building on ETBU's campus. The show was directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Natalie Wilson assisted by Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Andrew Wilson, and choreographed by ETBU senior theatre arts education major Amy Hobbs.

White Christmas headlines ETBU Fall 2022 theatre season

The streets of historic downtown Marshall were buzzing with Christmas cheer over the weekend as East Texas Baptist University’s Department of Music and Theatre Arts held its production of White Christmas: The Musical live on stage from November 30 - December 3 at Memorial City Hall. The musical, featuring the story of two World War II veterans who become partners in a singing and dancing act, was directed and choreographed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Natalie Wilson.
