The East Texas Baptist University Theatre Arts Department will perform A Christmas Carol, a musical adaption for the stage of the story by Charles Dickens. The production will be held at the Marshall Convention Center on November 29-30 at 7:30 p.m. and December 1-2 at 2:30 p.m. Directed by ETBU Associate Professor John Dement, the 31-person ensemble is diligently working to prepare for the performances.

The East Texas Baptist University Theatre Arts Department began its 2018-2019 production season with the performance of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie on Thursday, October 4 through Sunday, October 7. Directed by ETBU senior Theatre Design and Tech major Drew Frazier, the autobiographical play explored the dysfunctional dynamic of the Wingfield Family.

East Texas Baptist University's Theatre Department transformed Baker Chapel in the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center through their opening performance of the semester, The Christians by Lucas Hnath, on September 28 through October 1. According to Director Traci Ledford, the department achieved a milestone as they were granted the rights to the play, which only debuted in 2014 in Kentucky and has since been produced by major regional theatres. Ledford was drawn to the honest, desperate characters who were written as fully-realized and three-dimensional Christians.  

East Texas Baptist University's Theatre Department, led by student director, junior Laramie Smith, told the story of strangers stranded at a small roadside diner outside of Kansas City, Missouri during a winter blizzard with their production of Bus Stop, a play by William Inge. The ensemble performed for four sold-out audiences April 20-23. 

MARSHALL, Texas (4/14/15) - The Department of Theatre Arts at East Texas Baptist University proudly presents their spring production - Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee. Performances will be in the Black Box Theatre of the Jenna Guest Music Building.  Dates are April 16 at 7:30 p.m., April 17 at 8:00 p.m., April 18 at 7:30 p.m., and April 19 at 2:30 p.m.
