ETBU students Reach Out to Marshall Community Members Through Kid's Club

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (9/5/2015) - Many college students, when attending school away from their hometowns, will become involved with campus life without participating in the city's community. But a group of students from East Texas Baptist University is spending weekday evenings doing just that.

"We do (games) and a Bible study and then have (snacks) and Kool-Aid. The main thing is to love on the kids and to let them know we're here (for them)," said junior Ashley Mexicano, who is a leader for the ETBU outreach program Kid's Club.

MNM: ETBU Students Get Familiar With Area Churches

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (8/27/15) - East Texas Baptist University sophomores Joshua Moreno and Matthew Cavin have been looking to find a church home, an issue they said is very important to both of them.

"It's important to be involved in a church outside of what we do in ETBU because you can easily get lost or discouraged. Church is a great way to keep connected to God," Moreno said Wednesday during the university's annual Church Day in the Quad.
