East Texas Baptist University students welcomed their families to campus for the University’s annual Family Weekend on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15. More than 465 family members visited to experience the joy of community at ETBU.

MARSHALL, Texas (8/30/15) - Mary Lillian George Fitts, 78, died August 29, 2015. She was born June 16, 1937 in Linden, Texas to Thomas and Toy Pyland George. She graduated from Linden High School and attended East Texas Baptist College and the University of Texas. 

DAINGERFIELD, Texas (8/25/15) - Funeral services for Sheila C. Hurtte, 84, of Daingerfield will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Daingerfield with Bro. Jim Powell and Bro. Don Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.

MARSHALL, Texas (1/12/15) - Christmas came four days early for a family from Mount Pleasant as a prayer was answered.  The prayer of Jill and Kevin Kent was to one day see all five of their daughters earn college degrees.  Their prayer was answered as daughters, Karson and Kaitlyn, the fourth and fifth from the family graduated from East Texas Baptist University during Fall Commencement held December 20th.  All five of the Kent's daughters are now alumni of ETBU.
