ETBU Department of Theatre Arts Presents The Heiress, October 8-11

MARSHALL, Texas (9/30/15) -  East Texas Baptist University's Department of Theatre Arts proudly presents their fall production "The Heiress" by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, based on the novel "Washington Square" by Henry James. Performances of The Heiress are October 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. and October 11 at 2:30 p.m. in the Mabee Recital Hall of the Jenna Guest Music Building located on campus.  All tickets are $5.00 general admission or one free ticket per ETBU ID; no reservations required.

New ETBU Students Serve at Two MISD Campuses

MARSHALL, Texas (10/06/15) - East Texas Baptist University freshmen students saw smiles on many children's faces as they hosted Fall Festivals at two Marshall Independent School District campuses.  The two separate festivals were held at Lee Elementary and South Marshall Stem Academy on Thursday evening, October 1.  

"The children at Lee were so enthusiastic when they saw the ETBU students setting up the fair. They had so much fun playing the games and winning prizes and candy," said ETBU Great Commission Director Dr. Lisa Seeley.

ETBU Students Enjoy Second Annual Community Color Run

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (10/6/15) - East Texas Baptist University students and faculty ducked, dipped, dived and dashed but could not dodge the dust during the Centennial Hall second annual 2K in Color Run/Walk on Monday.

The race snaked around the central section of campus, with volunteers waiting at checkpoints ready to sufficiently douse runners in a rainbow of neon-colored dust.

At the end of the race, participants gathered in front of Centennial Hall and unleashed a "color bomb," tossing dust high up in the air and creating a smoky haze.

ETBU Debaters Reach Semifinals

MARSHALL, Texas (10/06/15) - The East Texas Baptist University Debate Team competed at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Weevil Wars Debate Tournament in Monticello, Arkansas the weekend of October 3-4. Eleven schools from six states competed at the event. While the team did not finish the tournament in the top three sweepstakes calculations, some individual debaters had success at the event.

WEEKEND TIGER ATHLETICS: Price Claims TX D3 Individual Championship; ETBU is 2nd Overall

CROSS COUNTRY (M): MARSHALL, Texas (10/3/15) - Landon Price added another title to his resume as he was the Texas Division III champion at the Texas Division III Championships hosted by East Texas Baptist University. Price finished third overall in the meet but won the Division III title as the top runner finishing in front of runners from Texas-Tyler, LeTourneau, Texas Dallas, Dallas, Hardin-Simmons, and Sul Ross State.
