ETBU hosts the 2018 PTK Texas Region Leadership Conference

East Texas Baptist University hosted the 2018 Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society (PTK) Texas Region Leadership Conference on Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14. PTK is an international honors society of two-year colleges and academic programs. The organization seeks to acknowledge the academic achievements of students and provide growth opportunities both personally and professionally. Annually, each PTK region holds affordable and accessible conventions to allow chapters to network in their areas.

ETBU Inaugurates 13th president In Marshall

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER: (2/20/16) - The light on the hill was shining brightly on Friday as East Texas Baptist University in Marshall officially welcomed its 13th president.

The inauguration ceremony Friday made it official for President J. Blair Blackburn who was unanimously hired by the university's trustees in April.

"We know we have found the best person, the best prepared, the best qualified and the person sanctioned by God to lead ETBU," ETBU Trustee Hal Cornish said Friday.

ETBU & Marshall High School Creating "Maverick University"

MARSHALL, Texas (2/16/16) - Officials with East Texas Baptist University and Marshall Independent School District, in partnership with the Marshall Educational Foundation announced on Thursday, Feb. 11, at Marshall High School the creation of "Maverick University." Beginning Fall 2016, ETBU will be offering nine dual credit college courses on the campus of MHS, which adds to the regular dual credit courses offered on the University campus.

ETBU President Shares Vision For Growth

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (2/13/16) - East Texas Baptist University President Blair Blackburn, who is set to be formally inaugurated during a ceremony next Friday, said he has a vision for the university that includes improving the housing and educational opportunities for not only the city of Marshall but all of Harrison County.
