Jacqueline Ramos is named 2018 J. Ward Walker Honoree

Jacqueline Ramos was recognized as the 2018 J. Ward Walker Lecturer by East Texas Baptist University on Monday, April 23. Each year, the ETBU Integration of Faith and Learning Committee acknowledges a faculty or staff member as the J. Ward Walker Honoree to lead the lecture series. During the University's chapel service, Ramos reminded the ETBU community that faith and calling must influence every aspect of a believer's life.

ETBU Inaugurates 13th president In Marshall

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER: (2/20/16) - The light on the hill was shining brightly on Friday as East Texas Baptist University in Marshall officially welcomed its 13th president.

The inauguration ceremony Friday made it official for President J. Blair Blackburn who was unanimously hired by the university's trustees in April.

"We know we have found the best person, the best prepared, the best qualified and the person sanctioned by God to lead ETBU," ETBU Trustee Hal Cornish said Friday.

ETBU To Inaugurate Dr. J. Blair Blackburn as President

MARSHALL, Texas (2/15/16) - Dr. J. Blair Blackburn will be inaugurated as East Texas Baptist University's 13th president on Friday, February 19, 2016. The inaugural ceremony will be held in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow the ceremony in the Huffman Activities Area of the Ornelas Student Center.

ETBU Honors Employees for Faithful Service

MARSHALL, Texas (5/07/15) - East Texas Baptist University held its annual End-of-the-Year Celebration for full time staff and faculty on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. The celebration started with a time of worship and prayer in Baker Auditorium and finished with a luncheon in the Woods and Cornish Great Rooms of the Ornelas Student Center to honor employees for service. A total of 30 were recognized that represented 340 years of faithful service to the University.
