The East Texas Baptist University Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) sent students to serve as small group leaders at Disciple-Now (D-Now) weekend events in churches across Texas and Louisiana this spring. Throughout the year, the ETBU BSM D-Now Ministry focuses on preparing students to share the Gospel of Christ.

East Texas Baptist University sent 18 Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) student leaders to South Padre Island, Texas on Friday, March 8 through Friday, March 15 as a part of Beach Reach, an annual evangelism initiative to share the hope of Jesus by providing free food and transportation to beach visitors.

East Texas Baptist University sent 11 Baptist Student Ministry student leaders to South Padre Island, Texas on Friday, March 9 through Friday, March 16 as a part of Beach Reach. According to the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce, more than 35,000 spring breakers visited the beach from all over the country. Texas Baptists (BGCT) reported over 750 college students traveled to provide free food and transportation to these beach visitors.

East Texas Baptist University gathered around the campus flagpole on Wednesday, September 27 for the global day of prayer, See You at the Pole. For over a decade, ETBU has participated in this tradition, enabling the Tiger Family to intercede for their school, friends, family, churches, communities, and country. 

Around 100 students from East Texas Baptist University joined in prayer for one another, their families, their community, the nation, and the world this morning from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. as a part of a worldwide initiative-See You at the Pole.
 
"We prayed for unity on campus, racially, and between athletes and non-athletes," ETBU Senior Brett Forbus of Kilgore said. "We prayed for the community of Marshall, and that students bring their faith outside of their bubble and share it in their community by being more involved."
