Life on the Hill

ETBU Goes

About

The Great Commission Center (GCC) provides opportunities for students to participate in short and long-term service experiences. Students can take part in mission projects during spring break or Christmas break, for a summer or semester, or most any time they are available.

Where does ETBU go?

During spring break 2017, the Great Commission Center led a team of students to minister among people living in poverty in Belize in partnership with Hope Springs Water. During fall break 2017, the Great Commission Center, in partnership with Texas Baptist Men and North Carolina Baptist Men, led a team of students to minister through disaster relief in southeast Texas to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Several mission opportunities are available to ETBU students, faculty, and staff during each academic year. We are currently taking applications for a Habitat for Humanity Trip during Spring Break, summer internship opportunities across the US and around the world, and other mission opportunities. Opportunities around the world are available on an individual basis also. Stop by the GCC to learn more.

The GCC walks alongside student organizations and athletic teams in tailoring a service project to the objectives of each organization and team. The GCC also collaborates with the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) and the International Education office to provide additional missions experiences.

How can we send you?

The GCC awards scholarships in varying amounts for cross-cultural projects of all kinds. You can pick up an application in the GCC office in the Rogers Spiritual Life Center.

Students who are considering going overseas on mission or even staying here in the United States can find help through ETBU Goes. ETBU Goes wants to make sure that you are equipped for your opportunity - knowing where you are going, what the project involves, how it can prepare you for your vocation, and how best to advance the Kingdom.
