ETBU Tiger Baseball makes an impact through free baseball skills camp for local children

The East Texas Baptist University Tiger Baseball Team concluded its series of free baseball skills camps for local children. Over the last six weeks, the Tiger student-athletes spent their Thursday evenings teaching an average of 60 children per week the fundamentals of baseball and sharing their faith through personal relationship development, Gospel testimonies, and prayer. More than 120 local children participated in the baseball camps over the span of six weeks.

ETBU Theatre opens season with Doubt: A Parable

East Texas Baptist University’s Department of Music and Theatre Arts opened its 2022-2023 season with a production of Doubt: A Parable, written by John Patrick Shanley, from September 30 through October 2. The show, centered around mature themes of truth and hardship, was directed by ETBU Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Andrew Wilson.

ETBU seniors recognized for Christian servant leadership

East Texas Baptist University seniors Colton Berryhill from Bullard, Texas, and Annie Walker from Montgomery, Texas, were honored on October 3 with the Bob and Gayle Riley Servant Leadership Award for consistently displaying Christian servant leadership on campus and in the community. ETBU President Emeritus Dr. Bob Riley and his wife, Gayle, took part in the ceremony and presented the honorees with a miniature replication of the “Divine Servant” statue, created by Max Greiner, which can also be found on campus at the entrance to the Rogers Spiritual Life Center.

Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship blesses ETBU nursing students

Several East Texas Baptist University nursing students were presented with the Polly Cargill Nursing Scholarship on behalf of the Jerry and Jack Cargill family and East Texas Baptist University. ETBU's Cameron Anderson, Reagan Creed, Trinity Griffith, Ta'Lena Johnson, Hailey Maloy, Megan McCarthy, Bailey Munch, Meagan Parker, Brittan Price, Laura Staley, Emma Stelzer, and Jaidakiss Younger received the scholarship during the reception held at the Marshall Grand.
