ETBU Professor Teaches Conducting Masterclass in Finland

MARSHALL, Texas (1/09/16) - One East Texas Baptist University Department of Music professor will travel a great distance in order to make the first day of spring classes on Monday (Jan.11). ETBU Director of Bands Mark Crim has spent the first full week of 2016 in Mikkeli, Finland conducting the Mikkelin Kaupunginorchesteri (St. Michel String Orchestra) and serving as faculty for the conducting masterclass there.

ETBU Names Dr. Heather Hadlock as Vice President for Student Affairs

MARSHALL, Texas (11/20/15) - East Texas Baptist University President Dr. Blair Blackburn announces that Dr. Heather Hadlock has been selected to serve as Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Hadlock comes to ETBU after serving in a number of roles in student affairs and administrative affairs at Dallas Baptist University including Assistant Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Associate Dean of Students, Director of Residence Life, and Director of Student Life.

ETBU Honors Retiree Eric Wilburn

MARSHALL, Texas (9/08/15) The Office of Administration and Finance at East Texas Baptist University held a retirement reception for Director of Physical Facilities Eric Wilburn. Faculty, staff, family, and friends gathered Friday afternoon, Aug. 28, in the Phillips Great Room of the Bennett Student Commons to honor his 27 years of loyal and faithful service to ETBU.

MNM: ETBU Professor to Host Leadership Event in Marshall, Longview

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (7/22/15) - A Hallsville High School and East Texas Baptist University alumni turned professor is wanting to give back to her community by hosting a first of its kind leadership seminar for area junior high and high school athletes and their parents.

Laci McRee, ETBU's assistant kinesiology professor, is hosting a Marshall leadership seminar for the staff of the Boys and Girls Club of The Big Pines at 4 p.m. on Aug. 4 at the club.
