“Miles to Marshall” 2019 Homecoming Weekend brings Tiger Family to the Hill

Despite rainy weather, the cooler temperatures could not put a damper on the warmth of the Tiger Spirit during East Texas Baptist University’s Homecoming festivities this weekend. ETBU hosted alumni from the College of Marshall (COM), East Texas Baptist College (ETBC), and East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) on the Hill for a celebration of past and present traditions during Homecoming weekend on Friday, October 25 through Saturday, October 26.

ETBU students recognized for Christian servant leadership

East Texas Baptist University recognized two students on Monday, October 7 for their service to the campus and community. Seniors Lane Craig from Marshall, Texas, and Helen Sperling from Quitman, Texas, were awarded the Bob and Gayle Riley Servant Leadership Award during a special chapel service. ETBU President Emeritus Bob Riley and his wife, Gayle, presented the students with a replica of the “Divine Servant” statue, created by Max Greiner, which stands outside of ETBU’s Ornelas Spiritual Life Center.

ETBU invites prospective students to the Hill for upcoming Preview Days

East Texas Baptist University will host two upcoming fall Preview Days on October 14, 2019 and November 9, 2019.  Prospective students interested in attending ETBU can visit campus and receive a comprehensive overview of life at ETBU through admission and financial aid sessions, academic showcases, campus tours, student life panels, and a chapel worship service.

ETBU adds lacrosse to the Tiger Athletic Program

A new sport will break into the East Texas area as East Texas Baptist University announces the addition of men’s lacrosse as a varsity club sport for the 2020-21 season, and the 22nd sport for Tiger Athletics. This will be the sixth new sport added at ETBU in the last four years joining men’s and women’s golf, hockey, bass fishing, and acrobatics and tumbling.  The Tiger Lacrosse program will focus on transforming young men’s lives, building their faith and character, and helping them excel in life, while fielding a competitive team on the field.
