Tiger Athletics: Softball Sweeps HPU, Baseball Wins Series with McMurry & Track & Field at UT-Tyler Meet

SOFTBALL: BROWNWOOD, Texas (3/5/16) – Doubling in the game winning run in the top of the seventh inning, Linzie Lewis put the East Texas Baptist University softball team on top, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field over Howard Payne University. The victory wraps up a three-game series sweep for ETBU, which goes to 10-3 overall and 8-1 against American Southwest Conference competition.

Lady Tigers & Tigers Both Win at the ASC Championship Tournament

BASKETBALL (W): TYLER, Texas (2/25/16) – Rallying in the fourth quarter to come back from a seven-point deficit, the East Texas Baptist University women’s basketball won their first post-season game in eight years upsetting the West Division #3 seed the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 73-70, as they advance to the second round of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. ETBU now has 17 wins which is the most since the 2006-07 season when they won 22.

Lady Tigers & Tigers With Wins Over Belhaven, ASC Tournament Next

BASKETBALL (M): MARSHALL, Texas (2/18/16) – Sending the seniors out in style winning 20th game of the year and 31 out of their last 32 in Ornelas Gym, the East Texas Baptist University men’s basketball shot 51.8 percent from the field en route to a 78-66 victory over Belhaven (Miss.) University on Thursday night. With the American Southwest Conference East Division title already clinched, ETBU improves to 20-5 overall this season.

WEEKEND TIGER ATHLETICS: Tiger Women's Tennis Upsets #23 Ranked LaVerne & More

TENNIS: WACO, Texas (2/13/16) - Gaining the program's first-ever win over a nationally ranked team the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team knocked off #23 the University of La Verne (Calif.), 7-2, on Saturday morning. This is the third win this year over a regionally ranked program and first vs. a top-25 team. The neutral-site match was played at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.

BASKETBALL (W): CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas (2/11/16) - From the moment when Taylee Alexander scored the first points of the game, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team never looked back as they managed a great game for the 63-50 victory over the University of the Ozarks. With the victory, ETBU ups their record to 14-9 and 7-7 overall in the American Southwest Conference East Division.
