ETBU Volunteers on MLK Service Day

MARSHALL, Texas (1/22/16) - The morning started out with temperatures below 40 degrees for volunteers from East Texas Baptist University as they assembled in the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center to participate in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. As soon as the volunteers received their assignments and left campus to serve, the chill was no longer noticed as they worked hard in the Marshall Community.

ETBU Students Perform Work Around Marshall in Honor of MLK Jr. Day

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER: (1/19/16) - Classes might have been cancelled on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day but several East Texas Baptist University students chose to spend their day off serving the community in honor of the late civil rights leader.

"Today is a national day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.," ETBU's Director of the Great Commission Lisa Seeley said. "We had about 100 students, staff and faculty in 12 different locations serving today."

ETBU & KSLA Holiday Food Drive Collects A Ton of Food

MARSHALL, Texas (12/04/15) - East Texas Baptist University joined KSLA-TV for its Annual Holiday Food Drive held on Wednesday, Dec. 2.  The Marshall community donated over one ton of canned goods and non-perishable food items during the drive. The donated food is now on the shelves of the United Churches of Marshall Food Pantry at Mission Marshall to be distributed to Harrison County families in need.

ETBU Community Comes Together For Annual Food Drive

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (12/3/15) - East Texas Baptist University students, staff and Marshall community members gathered and collected more than one ton of food on Wednesday to benefit Harrison County families that need a little help this holiday season. 

The university teamed up with Shreveport-based TV station KSLA for the second annual food drive to benefit Mission Marshall.

Mission Marshall serves more than 800 Harrison County families each month, Marshall food pantry Director Alisa Roberts said on Wednesday.

ETBU & KSLA Holiday Food Drive

MARSHALL, Texas (11/29/15) - East Texas Baptist University is inviting everyone to participate in a Holiday Food Drive during the Christmas season that will benefit the residents of Marshall and Harrison County. ETBU, in cooperation with KSLA-TV Shreveport, will be collecting canned food items on Wednesday, December 2, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on campus.
