MARSHALL, Texas (3/17/15) - The annual Sam B. Hall Jr. Lecture and Banquet has been rescheduled for Monday, March 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Phillips Great Room on the ground floor of the Bennett Student Commons at East Texas Baptist University.  The lecture series banquet was postponed due to inclement weather on February 23.   The lecture series program commemorates the late United States Representative and federal judge Sam B. Hall, Jr., who was a Marshall native and an alumnus of the College of Marshall, which is now ETBU. 

MARSHALL, Texas  (3/18/15) -  Five students from East Texas Baptist University attended the 118th Annual meeting of Texas Academy of Science held March 6-7th.  The meeting was hosted by the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
 

MARSHALL, Texas (3/17/15) -  East Texas Baptist University Assistant Professor of Psychology Dr. Gerald Nissley, Jr. is the recipient of the 2015 Ward Walker Award. The award is given annually to a faculty member who does an excellent job of pursuing faith and integration within their teaching and academic discipline.

MARSHALL, Texas  (3/11/15) - The Office of Academic Affairs at East Texas Baptist University held a reception for 15 students who will be included in the 2015 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  The reception attended by family, faculty and friends of the honorees was held in the Woods Great Room of the Ornelas Student Center on Wednesday afternoon, March 4.
 

NCAA BASKETBALL: STEVENS POINT, Wis. (3/13/15) - Showing the dominating play of a team effort, East Texas Baptist University held the University of Northwestern-St. Paul to just 30 percent shooting from the floor taking the Sweet 16 game, 70-46. ETBU now moves to their first-ever appearance in the Elite 8 on Saturday night.

"Our opponent was extremely well coached and they played with a lot of confidence as they came into the game with an 18-game winning streak" says head coach Bert West. "I was pleased with the game but we still have to make some improvements."
