ETBU Presents "Christmas in Marshall: A Festival Concert," on Dec. 11th at 7:00 p.m.

MARSHALL, Texas (12/09/15) - The Department of Music at East Texas Baptist University presents "Christmas in Marshall: A Festival Concert" on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. The concert will be held in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center on Campus. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door; admission is free with ETBU ID.  

The Christmas celebration concert will include performances by the Concert Choir, Men's and Women's Choirs, Symphonic Band with the Guitar Ensemble, University Ringers and University Singers.

ETBU Department of Theatre Arts Presents Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park, Dec. 3-6

MARSHALL, Texas (11/29/15) - The Department of Theatre Arts at East Texas Baptist University proudly presents a Discovery Series one-act production of Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park," directed by senior Sally Perkins. Performances will be Dec. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Jenna Guest Music Building Black Box Theatre on campus.

ETBU Students, Staff Celebrate Upcoming Holiday Season

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (12/1/15) - East Texas Baptist University students, staff and faculty know Jesus is the true reason for this upcoming holiday season, university President Blair Blackburn said Tuesday during the university's annual "Christmas on the Hill" celebration.

"We at East Texas Baptist University know that Christ is the true meaning behind Christmas," Blackburn said. "Christmas is about the hope, joy and love that comes from God through His son, Christ our savior."

ETBU in Marshall Takes Burdens to the Cross with New On-campus Prayer Ministry

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (11/7/15) - East Texas Baptist University is taking everything to the foot of the Cross with its new on-campus intercessory prayer ministry.

"God answers prayer. When I first became president, I challenged the faculty, staff and trustees to join together in prayer," ETBU President Blair Blackburn said. "I invited them to begin praying for 40 days and we as a university family read Mark Batterson's book 'Draw the Circle, The 40 Day Prayer Challenge.'" 

Blackburn said the staff took the 40-day prayer journey together, running June 1 to July 10.

ETBU To Host Tiger Day, November 7, 2015

MARSHALL, Texas (11/03/2015) - East Texas Baptist University will host Tiger Day on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The event is free and open to all prospective high school and college transfer students and their families. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet faculty and current students, receive admissions and financial aid information, and visit academic departments.  Lunch is provided for all guests in the Bennett Student Commons. There is still time to register for Tiger Day.
