ETBU makes the final push for Mabee Foundation grant

In January of 2020, the East Texas Baptist University Board of Trustees unanimously voted to launch a fundraising campaign to construct a 23,000 square feet facility, the Great Commission Center, which will be the future home to the Fred Hale School of Business, the Great Commission Program, and the Office of Career Development. In the summer of 2020, ETBU received a $1,500,000 challenge grant from the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation, requiring the University to raise $6,000,000 by July 1, 2021, in order to receive the $1,500,000 challenge grant funds.

ETBU dives deeper into the benefits of studying humanities

East Texas Baptist University’s School of Humanities seeks to communicate the practical application of its degree programs to prospective students. This year, the department added an Introduction to Law course to meet the needs of pre-law majors who are anxious about the transition from undergraduate studies to law school, and to provide a way for students interested in law to familiarize themselves with the profession in a more general way.

ETBU Bass Fishing receives 2020 Tackle Warehouse School of the Year Title

Earning the top title in collegiate fishing and making history at East Texas Baptist University, the Tiger Bass Fishing team was named the 2020 Tackle Warehouse School of the Year on Monday, December 14, by Fishing League Worldwide (FLW). This title annually goes to the school with the highest year-end point total at the completion of the regular Abu Garcia College Fishing season presented by YETI. Points are awarded to the top two finishing teams from each school that competes in an FLW College Fishing tournament.

ETBU SHARES HOLIDAY CHEER LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY

East Texas Baptist University participated in its fifth annual Operation Christmas Child, an outreach program organized by Samaritan’s Purse. Although the event looked a little different this year, the heart behind it remained the same. The ministry involves filling shoeboxes with small toys, school supplies, and other items that are sent to children all over the world as a Christmas gift and a tangible reminder of God’s love for them.
